AzteQ is proud of our reputation for pro-active, friendly support and installation services. Examples of work we have carried for our clients are detailed below.
Bedfont experiences a smooth transition for its ICT support
AzteQ often starts working with a school on an ad hoc basis, perhaps as the result of a call out to fix a specific problem. Very often this leads to a longer and deeper relationship. A good example of this process in action is AzteQ’s relationship with Bedfont Primary School in Hounslow; at the beginning of March 2012 AzteQ took a call from the school’s Deputy Headmaster asking for a quotation for a wireless solution.
AzteQ provided a free site survey during which some issues with the existing infrastructure were highlighted and discussed, and the overall issue of ICT support came up. The Deputy Headmaster described the ICT issues that most affected the pupils, and highlighted concerns with the way staff were utilising ICT during the teaching process. After a brief meeting with the Headteacher, we offered to send in one of our engineers to rectify these priority issues with a fixed number of support days. The school agreed to this and after the allotted number of days the school requested that the engineer stay on permanently at the school on a fixed yearly contract to support the ICT infrastructure.
In addition, AzteQ has carried out a complete hardware and software asset review that included specialist application installations, including re-engineering the backbone fibre infrastructure, ensuring all cabling was correctly routed, specifying the cabinet size for the router, checking IP address schemes, gateways and DNS entries.
AzteQ is in its 5th year of support provision.
Douay Martyrs School speeds things up
Douay Martyrs IT backbone needed a significant upgrade to cope with the increasing number of users and the associated data throughput. AzteQ was engaged to install a number of core and edge switches, linked together by SFP modules, via fibre, to run a 10GBit triangular backbone.
In order to ensure this solution was successfully installed, all existing fibre had to be tested and newfibre and data cabling installed at various points in the buildings, to complete the backbone; linking both of the school’s campuses. Although a challenging installation, working closely with the client; AzteQ successfully provided the backbone in time for the new term start.
Replacement served up at The Breakspear School
AzteQ has completed a server replacement for The Breakspear School in Middlesex. The replacement included the supply, installation and configuration of an admin and curriculum server with data migration, as well as the configuration of the admin desktops to join the new admin server domain.
This activity was carried out during term time with minimum disruption to the school. The School Business Manager, Francis Saunders commented: “...we are very pleased with the quality of service your company has provided to us on the recent server replacement. We sincerely appreciate your responsiveness to the school’s needs and the way your company conducts its business. We will be recommending your company to other schools because of our satisfaction with your service.”
All change at Minet Juniors
Minet Junior School has significantly invested in new hardware (including touch screen desktops and laptops) as part of its ICT growth plan. Whilst being at the forefront of PC hardware technology, it had identified that the back end servers needed upgrading and that the school was running on outdated versions of the operating system.
AzteQ planned accordingly in order to facilitate successful project completion and installed during the summer holidays. At project commencement all the software was tested to ensure that the system was ready for use at the start of the new term. One of the major challenges was the scale of the project considering the size of the school the number of machines involved.
The ICT Manager; Carole Carpenter said of the installation “From start to nish we have been really pleased by the way that AzteQ carried out the project. They really listened and understood what we wanted to achieve. The project went without a hitch, the engineers went above and beyond what we have experienced with other suppliers, and nothing was too much trouble. We are overjoyed with the result and have no problem in recommending their services to other schools.”
Cabling infrastructure upgrade at St Mary’s
AzteQ has completed the supply and installation of a number of data outlets and associated equipment at St Mary’s RC Infant and Junior School.
AzteQ supplied a large data cabinet to house the necessary cabling for data outlets located at various locations around the school. These outlets were re-routed and terminated as necessary. The single mode broadband bre was re-housed in new 27u cabinet.
Simon Ellis, IT coordinator for the school, said of the installation; “We were extremely impressed with the work carried out by AzteQ. The cabling engineers were courteous, helpful and very efficient. Some of the installation took place during school hours, and the engineering team was more than happy to work around our school’s busy routines. The management of the project was superb and ensured that the work was completed to a very high standard. We will certainly be using AzteQ for future projects and will highly recommend them to other organisations.”
Wireless LAN at Cowley St Laurence
AzteQ has successfully completed a wireless LAN installation at Cowley St Laurence CofE Primary School in Uxbridge. The school’s requirement was for wireless coverage across the whole site, with uninterrupted connectivity between the wireless access points (APs). AzteQ provided a system which delivers the coverage, capacity, and performance needed in modern school infrastructures.
AzteQ completed installation during the summer break and within the school’s timeline. The installation was carefully managed to ensure best use of the legacy cabled network infrastructure, in order to maintain cost effectiveness. The benefits to the school included a swift installation, minimum disruption to the school’s infrastructure and complete wireless connectivity across both blocks within the school. ICT Leader, Jo Rindsland said “AzteQ quickly completed a site survey and advised us of the best wireless solution for our needs. Work was undertaken at a time suitable for us and we are all now happily using wireless across the school!”
